The Gentle Spring are a Paris-based indie pop trio made up of Michael Hiscock, Emilie Guillaumot and Jérémie Orsel. Hiscock, a founding member of The Field Mice, brings his songwriting experience to the group alongside Guillaumot on vocals and keyboards and Orsel on guitar. Together, they create melodic, reflective songs that combine acoustic guitars, keyboards and layered guitar textures.
The band's debut album, Looking Back at the World, was released by Skep Wax Records in 2025. Featuring songs including Sugartown, Severed Hearts and the title track, the record explores themes of love, memory and looking towards the future. The Gentle Spring have also announced a second album, Northernhay, following their debut with a further collection of indie pop songs.
The Gentle Spring perform as a trio and followed the release of Looking Back at the World with a UK tour. Their live shows give audiences the chance to hear the interplay between the band's voices, guitars and keyboards, bringing their thoughtful songwriting to the stage. For fans of melodic indie pop, The Gentle Spring offer music that balances reflection with a love of memorable melodies.
