The Mysterines, a British alternative rock group hailing from Liverpool and the Wirral, comprise Lia Metcalfe on vocals and guitar, George Favager on bass guitar, Callum Thompson on guitar and backing vocals, and Paul Crilly on drums and backing vocals. Their inaugural album, "Reeling," launched on March 11, 2022, via Fiction Records, achieving a notable position at number 9 on the UK Albums Chart.
The band's genesis occurred when vocalist and songwriter Lia Metcalfe crossed paths with bassist George Favager, both residing in close proximity on the Wirral. Initially a trio featuring drummer Chrissy Moore, the lineup expanded after Moore's departure in 2020, welcoming Callum Thompson on guitar and backing vocals, while Paul Crilly assumed drumming duties.
Before securing a deal with Fiction Records in March 2021, The Mysterines independently released seven tracks spanning two EPs under their own Pretty Face Recordings label. Their debut album, "Reeling," produced by Catherine Marks, emerged the subsequent year.
