The Real People are an English rock band from Liverpool, formed in 1986 by brothers Tony and Chris Griffiths. The current lineup includes Tony Griffiths (bass, vocals), Chris Griffiths (guitars, vocals), Martin Lappin (guitar), Tony McGuigan (drums), and James Breckon (keyboards).
Originally known as JoJo and the Real People, the band released their debut album in 1988. They achieved success in 1991 with their self-titled album. Despite a few charting singles, their follow-up album in 1992 was canceled, leading to lineup changes and a hiatus in 1998. They reunited for live shows in 2002 and 2008, releasing albums in 2010 and 2016.
