The Shackleton Trio are a British folk group from East Anglia known for combining traditional influences with original songwriting, rich vocal harmonies and accomplished acoustic musicianship. Featuring Georgia Shackleton, Aaren Bennett and Nic Zuppardi, the trio draw inspiration from the folk traditions and landscapes of their home region while creating music with a contemporary character. Their sound brings together fiddle, guitar, mandolin and vocals in arrangements that highlight both storytelling and instrumental detail.
The group's repertoire blends original compositions with traditional material, reflecting a strong connection to British folk heritage and the stories found within it. Georgia Shackleton's vocals and fiddle are complemented by the guitar and mandolin work of Bennett and Zuppardi, creating arrangements that can move from delicate and intimate passages to lively acoustic performances. Their recordings and extensive appearances on the folk circuit have helped establish The Shackleton Trio as a respected name within contemporary English folk music.
Live, The Shackleton Trio create an intimate atmosphere where storytelling, harmony and musicianship remain at the centre of the performance. Their acoustic arrangements allow each instrument and voice to be clearly heard, while the interaction between the three musicians brings warmth and spontaneity to the songs. For audiences who enjoy traditional folk, contemporary acoustic music and finely crafted songwriting, a Shackleton Trio concert offers a chance to experience East Anglian folk traditions brought vividly to life.
