The Teenagers are a French indie pop and electronic group who emerged from Paris in the mid 2000s, attracting international attention with their playful combination of indie rock, synth driven pop and provocative storytelling. Formed by Quentin Delafon, Michael Szpiner and Dorian Dumont, the group became closely associated with the era of blogs, indie clubs and electronic influenced guitar music that helped shape alternative culture during the decade. Their witty lyrics, catchy melodies and effortlessly cool aesthetic quickly earned The Teenagers a distinctive place within the international indie scene.
The band gained wider recognition with songs including "Homecoming", "Love No" and "Starlett Johansson", followed by their 2008 debut album Reality Check. Their music combines bright synthesizers, guitars and infectious pop hooks with conversational vocals and lyrics exploring relationships, attraction and youth culture. The result is a sound that captures the carefree spirit of its era while retaining the quirky personality that originally distinguished The Teenagers from their contemporaries.
Live, The Teenagers translate their colourful indie pop into an energetic and nostalgic concert experience. Their combination of electronic rhythms, guitar driven melodies and instantly recognisable songs makes their performances ideal for audiences who remember the indie dance floors of the 2000s, as well as listeners discovering the band for the first time. With their playful attitude and infectious hooks, The Teenagers offer a chance to revisit a distinctive period of alternative pop culture in a lively live setting.
