The Totally Improvised Musical turns audience suggestions into spontaneous musical theatre, creating a show where the story, characters, songs and surprises are invented in the moment. Combining improvisational comedy with the conventions of musical theatre, the production offers an unpredictable evening in which neither the performers nor the audience know exactly what will happen next.
Improvised theatre relies on quick thinking, creativity and collaboration, and adding original songs brings an additional challenge to every performance. Characters can appear without warning, stories can take unexpected directions and musical numbers can emerge from almost any situation. Because the material is created live, each performance has the potential to become a completely different musical from the one performed before it.
Seeing The Totally Improvised Musical live means becoming part of a one off theatrical experience. Audience ideas help inspire the action, while the performers transform those suggestions into comedy, storytelling and music in real time. For fans of musicals, improvisation and unpredictable comedy, The Totally Improvised Musical offers an entertaining alternative to a traditional scripted production.
