The Vamps are a British pop band formed in 2012, comprising Brad Simpson, James Brittain-McVey, Connor Ball, and Tristan Evans. They signed with Mercury Records (now Virgin EMI Records) in November 2012. The band achieved their first number 1 on the UK Albums Chart with "Night & Day (Night Edition)" in 2017, and their first two albums, "Meet The Vamps" and "Wake Up," are certified Gold in the UK. They have also launched their own record label, Steady Records, in partnership with EMI/Universal, signing the American band The Tide as their first act.
Guitarist James McVey participated in the eighteenth series of "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" in 2018, finishing in fifth place. The Vamps have consistently toured worldwide since their debut and are notable for being the first band to headline London's O2 Arena five years in a row.
James McVey, managed by Richard Rashman and Joe O'Neill of Prestige Management, discovered Bradley Simpson on YouTube in 2011. Simpson became the lead singer, and they were later joined by Tristan Evans via Facebook and Connor Ball through a mutual friend. The band gained attention by uploading cover songs to YouTube, including a performance of One Direction's "Live While We're Young."
The band released their debut single "Can We Dance" in September 2013, peaking at number two on the UK Singles Chart. Their debut album "Meet the Vamps," released in April 2014, debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart. They made a cameo on the soap opera "Hollyoaks" and collaborated with Demi Lovato and Shawn Mendes on singles from their debut album.
In February 2015, The Vamps launched their own label, Steady Records. They released their second studio album, "Wake Up," in November 2015 and embarked on a world tour. The album debuted at number 10 on the UK Albums Chart.
The band released their autobiography, "The Vamps: Our Story 100% Official," in October 2016. Their third album, "Night & Day," was released in two parts: "Night Edition" in July 2017 and "Day Edition" in July 2018, with the former debuting at number one on the UK Albums Chart.
The Vamps announced their fifth studio album, "Cherry Blossom," in July 2020, releasing it in October 2020, where it debuted at number one on the UK charts. In 2022, they released their first greatest hits album, "Ten Years of The Vamps," and embarked on the "Ten Years of The Vamps - The Greatest Hits Tour" throughout 2022 and 2023.
