The Velveteers are an American rock band from Boulder, Colorado, known for their thunderous combination of garage rock, blues, alternative music and psychedelic intensity. Led by guitarist and vocalist Demi Demitro, with drummers Baby Pottersmith and Jonny Fig, the band have developed a distinctive setup that gives their music an unusually powerful rhythmic foundation. Heavy guitar riffs, raw vocals and dual percussion contribute to a sound designed to make an immediate impact.
The band's debut album, Nightmare Daydream, was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys and introduced a wider audience to The Velveteers' mixture of heavy riffs and dark, atmospheric songwriting. Their music draws from classic rock and garage influences while maintaining a contemporary edge, combining memorable hooks with distorted guitars and forceful percussion. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and individual, with the band's unconventional rhythmic approach providing a particularly recognisable element.
On stage, The Velveteers turn their heavy sound into an intense physical performance. The combination of Demitro's guitar and vocals with two drummers creates a wall of rhythm that gives the band's songs additional weight in a live environment. Their performances emphasise volume, movement and raw musicianship, making them an exciting prospect for audiences who want rock music delivered with urgency. For fans of garage rock, alternative rock and blues influenced riffs, The Velveteers offer a concert experience built for maximum impact.
