Scott Hansen, known professionally as Tycho, is an American musician, record producer, composer, and songwriter based in San Francisco. Born on February 7, 1977, he is also recognized as ISO50 for his photographic and design work. Tycho's musical style blends elements of downtempo guitar, analogue synthesis, and ambient sounds, incorporating found sounds like weather broadcasts and dialogue.

Tycho released his first EP, "The Science of Patterns," in 2002, followed by his debut album, "Past Is Prologue," in 2006, initially as a solo project. He later signed with Mom+Pop and Ninja Tune in 2019, having previously released music on labels such as Ghostly International, Merck Records, and Gammaphone Records. Tycho's fourth studio album, "Epoch," earned a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2017, while his fifth album, "Weather," received a nomination in 2020.

Hansen's music project Tycho draws influence from artists like DJ Shadow, Ulrich Schnauss, and Boards of Canada, featuring themes of nostalgia, longing, childhood, and the natural world. His compositions combine electronic synths, live instrumentation, and vintage sound clips. Over time, Tycho transitioned from a solo project to a collaborative effort, incorporating live band performances during album tours. Hansen aims to strike a balance between the dynamic energy of live instrumentation and the precision of electronic music in his performances.
