UNKLE Sounds brings the musical world of UNKLE into an immersive live and DJ environment, drawing on decades of electronic music, trip hop, alternative rock and cinematic experimentation. UNKLE was founded in the 1990s by James Lavelle, who has remained the creative force behind the project while collaborating with an extensive range of musicians, producers and vocalists. The result is a catalogue that crosses genres while retaining a distinctive dark and atmospheric identity.
The landmark UNKLE album "Psyence Fiction" helped establish the project's international reputation, combining electronic production with hip hop, rock and experimental influences. Across subsequent releases, UNKLE continued to expand its sound through ambitious collaborations and cinematic production. James Lavelle's background as a DJ and founder of the Mo Wax label has also remained central to the project's identity, connecting UNKLE with club culture, visual art and adventurous electronic music.
UNKLE Sounds allows this extensive musical history to be explored in a live setting, where selections can move between UNKLE material, influential electronic tracks and unexpected musical connections. The DJ based format gives Lavelle space to create an evolving journey rather than a conventional concert set, combining atmosphere, rhythm and decades of musical knowledge. For fans of UNKLE, Mo Wax, trip hop and boundary pushing electronic music, UNKLE Sounds offers a chance to experience this influential musical world from the dancefloor.
