Vampire Weekend is an iconic American rock band originating from New York City. Established in 2006, the band comprises lead vocalist and guitarist Ezra Koenig, multi-instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij, drummer Chris Tomson, and bassist Chris Baio. Their innovative fusion of indie pop, Afropop, and chamber music elements has garnered critical acclaim and commercial success.

The band's self-titled debut album, released in 2008, introduced chart-topping singles like "A-Punk" and "Oxford Comma", earning them recognition as one of the greatest debut acts. Subsequent albums, including Contra (2010), Modern Vampires of the City (2013), and Father of the Bride (2019), further solidified their status as trailblazers in the alternative music scene. Notably, each album clinched the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in its respective year.

Vampire Weekend's journey began at Columbia University, where the members bonded over their shared passion for punk rock and African music. Best Gig of the Year

Awesome night! First time to Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith and it was great. Easy to get to, well organised security and no long queues. We had circle seats and the view was good. I thought we'd be stuck in our seats but everyone was up and dancing to the lively ones. Brilliant atmosphere. The lighting was incredible, not just the music. Vampire Weekend do a different set list each night with most of the current album included but others swapped about. Wish I'd known. Would have got tickets for b...

Disappointing

Leeds, Leeds First Direct Arena, 16/11/2013

We were very disappointed with Vampire Weekends gig at Leeds arena. Primarily because virtually every single song was accompanied by very intrusive and distracting lights shining out from the stage into the audience. I realise the use of lighting can be effective but on this occasion it detracted from the performance instead of enhancing it.

Fantastic. The music was great but thats expected. Vampire Weekend interacted loads with the crowd which was brilliant and some of the party songs were brilliantly done. Go and see them live! They are one of those bands that are much better live!
