While She Sleeps is a melodic hardcore/metalcore band formed in Sheffield in 2006. The band consists of Lawrence Taylor on Vocals, Mat Welsh on Guitar/Backing Vocals, Sean Long on Guitar/Piano, Aaran McKenzie on Bass and Adam Savage on Drums/Percussion. The band are currently signed with Small Town Records in the UK, Good Fight Music in the US, Shock Entertainment in Australia and Doom Patrol in Japan. WSS play a unique mix of melodic hardcore with strong metal influences. They have released one studio album and one single, and are currently working on a follow-up album due for release Spring 2012.
In their early years While She Sleeps played close to 300 shows across the UK and mainland Europe. Their debut album “The North Stands For Nothing” received critical acclaim from European music publications like Kerrang and Metal Hammer. Their songs and videos also started getting highly sought after spins and views on major European media outlets like XFM Total Rock, Scuzz, and Kerrang TV in the U.K. Through this they began to make a name for themselves and the opportunities being presented grew bigger accordingly. They became one of only two bands in the U.K. to be endorsed by Fred Perry, the renowned U.K. street fashion clothing line. The band also booked a full European headlining tour and supported Attack Attack! on a major U.K. tour in early 2011.
In late 2011 they announced that they had begun writing their second album. It is due for release in Spring 2012. They have begun a series of studio diaries and are currently filming a tour diary while part of the Kerrang/Relentless tour with New Found Glory, The Blackout and Letlive.
