Wilko Johnson is a guitarist and founding member of Dr. Feelgood, who has influenced everyone from Joe Strummer, Mick Jones to Steve Albini. In 1971, Wilko first made his name when he formed Dr. Feelgood; a British pub rock band from Canvey Island, Essex. Known for their high energy live performances, their first two studio albums, Down by the Jetty (1974) and Malpractice (1975), proved immensely popular. Their 1976 breakthrough live album, Stupidity reached No.1 in the official UK album chart. By the time Dr. Feelgood released their fourth album, Sneakin' Suspicion (1977), Johnson left the group to pursue a solo career. By 1980, Johnson joined Ian Dury and the Blockheads. Recently Johnson featured in Julien Temple's Oil City Confidential; a full-length feature film documentary about Dr. Feelgood, and has also of late been seen starring opposite Sean Bean as Royal Executioner Ser Illyn Payne in HBO's fantasy series Game of Thrones, shown on Sky Atlantic television.
I saw Feelgood with Wilko back in the 70s. He was amazing then and is amazing now. The sound was excellent and Wilko moved across the stage with real energy. I feel privileged to have seen him.

Thought Wilko was superb as per usual, but the venue Lawrence Batley Theatre - what a terrible venue for a rock legend. I suppose its nice to watch your 6 year old daughter doing ballet there but apart from that it's a four no's from the panel! Why Wilko didnt go back to Holmfirth is beyond me?
Brilliant - as ever!!

Congratulations Wilko and to the brilliant Norman W-R and Dylan Howe for another excellent evening.
Please keep going - it was worth battling through the bank holiday traffic and snow. A lot of bands could learn a lot from them that even if you are talented musicians that gelling as a unit raises the standards considerably and makes it more special for the fans.
