You Me at Six is an English rock band from Weybridge, Surrey, formed in 2004. The band consists of lead singer Josh Franceschi, guitarists Max Helyer and Chris Miller, bassist Matt Barnes, and drummer Daniel Flint. Their name originated from making Friday night plans after a concert.
The band achieved initial success in 2008 with their debut album, Take Off Your Colours, featuring singles like "Save It for the Bedroom", "Finders Keepers", and "Kiss and Tell", with the latter two charting in the UK Singles Chart. Their second album, Hold Me Down (2010), debuted at number five in the UK, while their third album, Sinners Never Sleep (2011), peaked at number three, was certified Gold, and included the top 50 single "Loverboy". The band's fourth album, Cavalier Youth (2014), debuted at number one, featuring singles "Lived a Lie" and "Room to Breathe". Their fifth album, Night People (2017), received mixed reviews, followed by VI (2018) and their second number one album, Suckapunch (2021). In 2023, they released their eighth album, Truth Decay.
You Me at Six has toured extensively, appearing on Warped Tour and Soundwave, and touring with Thirty Seconds to Mars, Paramore, Fall Out Boy, All Time Low, and Bring Me the Horizon. They won Best British Band at the Kerrang! Awards in 2011 and cite influences such as Blink-182, Incubus, Thrice, and Arctic Monkeys.
In February 2024, the band announced their breakup following a farewell tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary, which will conclude in 2025.
