Accessibility
Cecil Sharp House is a largely unaltered 1930s building and is listed Grade II. For this reason access for some people with disabilities is limited. We ask disabled visitors to contact Cecil Sharp House in advance whenever possible - this enables us to ensure that staff and any additional assistance is available without delay.

Kennedy Hall, our main concert hall and largest hire space, and the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library are both situated on the Ground Floor of Cecil Sharp House. The Ground Floor is accessible by an external platform lift, which can be accessed from the car park outside of the main entrance to the house. Also on the Ground Floor is the Reception Desk which is manned throughout the day by EFDSS staff who are there to help your hire run smoothly and to assist visitors with specific needs.

There are two wheelchair accessible toilets on the Ground Floor.

Trefusis and Storrow Halls, the bar, the café, and more male and female toilets are all located in the basement of Cecil Sharp House. This level is currently accessed by stairs only. If you would like to purchase something from the bar and café but are unable to access them please ask one of the Duty Managers who will go to the bar or café on your behalf.

The Committee Room is located on the first floor. This level is also not currently accessible to visitors in wheelchairs.

Concerts and Events: 2-4-1 Ticket Deal

For all our concerts and events we offer a 2-4-1 ticket deal to disabled visitors who require a personal assistant or access worker. Please call 0207 485 2206 and ask to speak to Verity Flecknell or email verity@efdss.org to request a 2-4-1 ticket, a parking space and/or for a reserved seat or a viewing area for a standing concert.

We also offer an early entrance, 15 minutes before the scheduled door open time for disabled visitors to concerts and events so that you can be seated before the rest of the visitors enter. Please let us know when you plan to arrive so we can greet you and seat you without delay

Parking
There are three disabled parking bays for disabled visitors conveniently located near the platform lift and accessible via the Regents Park Road entrance to Cecil Sharp House and its grounds. A car parking space can also be reserved for visitors with access needs. Please call the office on 020 74852206 to discuss any requirements and we will be happy to help. Every possible help is offered.

There are 11 steps leading to the main entrance from the car park.
