Venue
Scala is a beautiful multi-purpose venue in the regenerated King’s Cross area, on the north side of central London. The building incorporates four main floors and accommodates events for as many as 1,145 people. There are three bars, 2 dance floors and a stage for live performances. There is a cloakroom on the first floor.
Accessibility
Disabled access The Scala is an old building with many access problems. We are aware of these problems and hope to improve the building in the future. The main issue for those with mobility problems is the various levels throughout the building.
All stairs have sturdy handrails. There are 3 steps into reception, 37 steps to the foyer bar, 14 steps to the main arena (54 total), 24 steps from the foyer bar to the toilets (64 total) and a further 23 steps to the balcony bar (87 total). With prior notice we can arrange for our staff to help those people with mobility problems as much as is possible.
Wheelchair Users There is no lift but we are happy to manually lift wheelchair users. If possible please arrive 5 minutes before doors open and make yourself known to our security staff for advanced entry. The upper side balcony is a good position to watch live shows. Your view may partially be obstructed by the balcony railings.
