СОЮЗ (SOYUZ), have cemented their international reputation as a constantly evolving and adventurous music collective.
Specialising in folk ballads and jazz-driven pop compositions covered in lush and often dissonant string and woodwind arrangements, the creative collective have been praised by the likes of Gilles Peterson (BBC Maida Vale), BBC Radio 2, Radio 6, Worldwide FM, CLASH, The Quietus, and more.
Their collaborations stretch just as wide: from Asha Puthli’s cosmic jazz to Sven Wunder’s psychedelic soundscapes, each encounter pushing their music into new forms.
While the recordings of SOYUZ feature a wider array of instruments, live performances are reimagined by the quartet. With a name translating as “union”, it reflects the creative nature of the relationship between its members: Alex Chumak, Mikita Arlou, Albert Karch, and Igor Wiśniewski.
