Joshua Idehen is a British-Nigerian poet, musician, and spoken word artist whose powerful voice and genre-blurring collaborations have made him a distinctive presence in the UK’s alternative music scene. Known for fusing poetic storytelling with elements of electronic, jazz, and soul, Idehen has worked with boundary-pushing acts like Sons of Kemet, The Comet Is Coming, and Swedish synth-pop duo Benin City. His solo work, including tracks like “Don’t You Give Up on Me” and “I Got You Every Step of the Way,” delivers raw vulnerability wrapped in lush, experimental production, tackling themes of identity, love, and hope with lyrical precision and emotional depth.
Live, Joshua Idehen offers a rare blend of spoken word intimacy and musical transcendence. His performances are described by audiences as “deeply moving” and “unlike anything else,” where poetry meets pulsating rhythms and every word lands with purpose. Whether accompanied by a full band or stripped-back electronics, he creates an atmosphere of connection and catharsis, guiding the crowd through joy, grief, resilience, and release. A Joshua Idehen show is not just a concert, it’s an emotional experience that stays with you long after the final note.
