Kingmaker Xmas brings the music of British indie rock band Kingmaker into a festive live setting, giving fans an opportunity to celebrate the Christmas season with songs from one of the distinctive names of the early 1990s UK alternative scene. Formed in Hull and fronted by singer and guitarist Loz Hardy, Kingmaker developed a devoted following through sharp songwriting, guitar driven melodies and lyrics filled with wit, observation and youthful energy.
Kingmaker emerged during a vibrant period for British independent music, releasing albums including Eat Yourself Whole and Sleepwalking. Songs such as "Really Scrape the Sky", "Ten Years Asleep" and "Armchair Anarchist" helped establish the band's reputation, combining memorable indie rock hooks with Hardy's distinctive lyrical perspective. Their music remains closely associated with the guitar driven alternative landscape of the era while retaining an identity of its own.
Kingmaker Xmas gives fans the chance to experience that catalogue in the communal atmosphere of a seasonal concert. Familiar songs, guitar driven energy and the nostalgia attached to British indie music make the event an appealing way to round off the year. Whether reconnecting with music first discovered in the 1990s or experiencing Kingmaker live for the first time, the Christmas show offers an opportunity to celebrate the band's songs with fellow fans.
