Loma + Shearwater brings together two distinctive names from the world of atmospheric indie and alternative music. Loma is a collaborative project involving Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater alongside Emily Cross and Dan Duszynski, known for creating intricately textured music that combines experimental pop, ambient detail and evocative songwriting. Shearwater, meanwhile, has built an acclaimed catalogue around Meiburg's expressive vocals and a sound that moves between intimate indie rock and sweeping, cinematic arrangements.
Loma's releases have established the project as a compelling presence in experimental music, with carefully constructed songs that reward close listening. Shearwater has similarly developed a reputation for ambitious records and richly detailed compositions, drawing on rock, folk and experimental influences. The connection between the two projects makes this pairing particularly interesting, offering audiences different perspectives on the creative work surrounding Meiburg and his collaborators.
Live, Loma and Shearwater offer music designed to draw audiences into carefully constructed worlds of sound. Delicate passages can sit alongside powerful crescendos, while distinctive vocals and atmospheric instrumentation create an absorbing concert experience. For listeners drawn to thoughtful songwriting, experimental textures and emotionally resonant alternative music, Loma + Shearwater provides the opportunity to experience two closely connected creative projects in one live setting.
