lovetempo is a dance music project led by New York based musician and producer Mattie Safer, known for his work as a founding member of The Rapture. With lovetempo, Safer explores a warm and groove focused sound influenced by disco, house, soul and electronic music. The project places rhythm, melody and movement at its centre, creating contemporary dance music with strong connections to the traditions of New York club culture.
The lovetempo sound combines electronic production with soulful musical influences, resulting in tracks driven by bass, percussion and an instinctive sense of groove. Safer's background in dance oriented indie music feeds naturally into the project, while lovetempo provides space to explore club focused sounds in greater depth. The result is music that connects disco and house influences with a modern production style, designed to work equally well through headphones and on a busy dance floor.
Live, lovetempo turns those grooves into a shared dance experience, where rhythm and repetition can build momentum throughout the performance. The project's combination of soulful energy and electronic production creates an atmosphere suited to clubs, festivals and audiences who want to move. For fans of disco, house and New York influenced dance music, a lovetempo show offers the opportunity to experience a project built around groove, connection and the enduring excitement of the dance floor.
