Macklemore is an American rapper and songwriter from Seattle who has built an international career through energetic hip hop, memorable pop hooks and highly personal storytelling. Born Benjamin Haggerty, he achieved worldwide recognition through his collaboration with producer Ryan Lewis, combining independent ambition with songs that could move effortlessly between humour, social commentary, introspection and arena sized celebration.
Global hits including "Thrift Shop", "Can't Hold Us", "Same Love" and "Downtown" helped turn Macklemore into one of the most recognisable rappers of his generation. His work with Ryan Lewis earned major recognition, including Grammy Awards, while his solo catalogue has continued to explore themes including family, fame, addiction, identity and personal growth. His ability to combine serious subjects with accessible songwriting has remained a defining part of his music.
Macklemore concerts bring that diverse catalogue together in an energetic live setting, moving between emotional songs, rapid fire verses and huge singalong moments. His performance style is built around direct audience connection and high impact entertainment, making tracks such as "Can't Hold Us" particularly suited to packed venues and festival crowds. For hip hop and pop fans, seeing Macklemore live offers a chance to experience his biggest songs with the scale and energy they were made for.
