Nathan Connolly is a Northern Irish musician and songwriter, best known as the lead guitarist and backing vocalist for the popular rock band Snow Patrol. He was born on January 20, 1977, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Connolly started playing guitar at a young age and developed a passion for music.
In 2002, he joined Snow Patrol as lead guitarist, replacing original member Mark McClelland. Connolly's first album with the band was "Final Straw," which was released in 2003 and became a massive success, selling over 3 million copies worldwide. Since joining Snow Patrol, Connolly has played a key role in the band's sound, contributing his distinctive guitar work and backing vocals to many of their most popular songs. He has also co-written several of the band's tracks, including "Shut Your Eyes" and "If There's a Rocket Tie Me to It."
In addition to his work with Snow Patrol, Connolly has also been involved in other musical projects. He has played guitar for several other bands and artists, including Iain Archer and Little Doses. He also worked with fellow Northern Irish musician Duke Special on the soundtrack for the film "How to Lose Friends & Alienate People."
