PeelingFlesh are an American slam and death metal band from Oklahoma City, known for combining crushing heaviness with hip hop influences, samples and an unmistakably confrontational sound. Emerging from the underground extreme metal scene, the band have quickly attracted attention through punishing riffs, guttural vocals and breakdowns engineered for maximum impact. Their distinctive approach brings together the brutality of slam metal with rhythmic ideas drawn from rap and hardcore, giving PeelingFlesh a sound that immediately stands apart.
Releases including Slamaholics and The G Code helped establish PeelingFlesh as one of the notable names in a new generation of underground heavy music. Their material embraces exaggerated heaviness while incorporating samples and unexpected stylistic references, creating tracks that can be both relentlessly aggressive and deliberately playful. The combination has helped the band reach listeners across death metal, hardcore and adjacent heavy music communities.
Live, PeelingFlesh translate their music into an intensely physical concert experience. Huge breakdowns, relentless rhythms and guttural vocals create an atmosphere designed for movement, while the band's mixture of slam and hardcore energy makes their performances particularly suited to packed clubs and heavy music festivals. The immediacy of the material gives audiences little opportunity to stand still once a set gathers momentum.
