Saccades is the solo project of Nicholas Wood, also known for his work with the British electronic and psychedelic group The KVB. Through Saccades, Wood explores a warmer and more melodic musical direction, bringing together psychedelic pop, electronic textures, dreamy production and understated grooves. The project offers a different perspective on his songwriting while retaining the atmospheric qualities associated with his wider musical work.
Saccades blends vintage inspired psychedelia with contemporary electronic production, creating music that can feel nostalgic and modern at the same time. Synthesizers, guitars, relaxed rhythms and melodic vocals contribute to a sound shaped by atmosphere and movement. The project's recordings reveal an interest in both classic pop structures and more experimental textures, giving the music a distinctive character within modern independent psychedelia.
Live, Saccades offers an immersive setting for these layered songs, allowing psychedelic textures and electronic rhythms to expand beyond their recorded form. The combination of hypnotic grooves, melody and atmospheric sound makes the material particularly effective in an intimate concert environment. For listeners drawn to psychedelic pop, electronic music and alternative sounds, seeing Saccades live provides an opportunity to enter the project's colourful musical world firsthand.
