Skindred is a Welsh band that uniquely blends heavy metal with reggae, punk, and electronic music. Formed in Newport in 1998, they are renowned for their high-energy live performances and have won several awards, including "Best Live Band" at the 2011 UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards and the "Devotion Award" at the 2011 Kerrang! Awards.

The band was founded by Benji Webbe following the dissolution of his previous band, Dub War. Skindred's debut album, Babylon, was released in 2002 and later reissued in 2004, achieving significant success in the US, including a No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top Reggae Albums chart Subsequent albums like Roots Rock Riot (2007), Union Black (2011), Kill the Power (2014), and Big Tings (2018) solidified their reputation for genre-blending music and powerful performances.

Their latest album, Smile, released in 2023, reached No. 2 on the UK Album Chart and garnered widespread acclaim, reflecting the band's enduring appeal and influence in the rock and metal scenes.
