Slipknot are one of the most influential and unmistakable bands in modern heavy metal, renowned for their aggressive sound, masked appearance and explosive live performances. Formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in the 1990s, the band broke through internationally with their self titled debut album and quickly established themselves as a major force in metal. Combining elements of nu metal, alternative metal and extreme music, Slipknot built a distinctive identity around crushing guitars, intense percussion and the powerful vocals of Corey Taylor.
Across albums including Iowa, Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses, All Hope Is Gone and We Are Not Your Kind, Slipknot have expanded their sound while maintaining the intensity that made them famous. Songs such as "Wait and Bleed", "Duality", "Before I Forget", "Psychosocial" and "The Devil in I" have become staples of their catalogue. Their commercial success, Grammy recognition and enduring influence have helped establish Slipknot as one of the defining metal bands of their generation.
Slipknot concerts are known for their scale, theatrical presentation and relentless energy. Masks, dramatic staging, pounding percussion and a powerful connection between the band and the crowd transform their music into a visceral live experience. From enormous festival appearances to headline arena and stadium shows, Slipknot bring an intensity to the stage that has made their tours essential events for metal fans around the world.
