Stephen Lynch is an American comedian, musician, songwriter and actor known for combining sharp stand up comedy with cleverly written acoustic songs. Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Michigan, Lynch developed a distinctive performance style that blends accomplished guitar playing and melodic songwriting with dark humour, satire and unexpected punchlines. His unusual combination of comedy and music has earned him an international following and made Stephen Lynch live shows a distinctive experience for audiences looking for something beyond traditional stand up.
Lynch has released a successful catalogue of comedy albums, including "A Little Bit Special", "Superhero", "The Craig Machine" and "Lion", showcasing his talent for turning seemingly sincere songs into unpredictable comic stories. His career has also extended to the theatre, most notably starring as Robbie Hart in the Broadway musical "The Wedding Singer", a performance that earned him nominations for major theatre awards. Across recordings, television appearances and extensive touring, Lynch has established himself as one of the most recognisable performers working at the intersection of comedy and music.
Live, Stephen Lynch brings together stand up, storytelling and original songs in performances where musical skill is matched by an irreverent sense of humour. His acoustic arrangements can sound deceptively heartfelt before lyrics take an unexpected comic turn, creating the contrast that has become central to his appeal. For longtime followers and audiences discovering his work for the first time, a Stephen Lynch concert offers an entertaining mixture of musicianship, provocative comedy and unpredictable storytelling.
