Arrive by Train

The NIA is best served by New Street Station and Five Ways Station, which are both a short distance from the venue.

Once off the Train

Taxi

The NIA is a 5-10 minute journey by taxi from Birmingham New Street. A taxi rank is located directly outside the main entrance to the station.

Walk

The NIA is a 15-20 minute journey on foot from Birmingham New Street Station. Leave New Street Station via the Victoria Square Exit. Cross the road and continue up Pinfold Street to Victoria Square. When you enter Victoria Square (Town Hall will be on the left hand side) follow the signs for Paradise Forum, Convention Centre and National Indoor Arena. Continue towards Central Library and through Paradise Forum (entrance to this Mall is on the left hand side of the entrance to Central Library) and out into Centenary Square. Continue straight ahead through Centenary Square. Turn right just in front of The ICC, when you meet the road turn left and continue down the road where you will come to The NIA on the left hand side.

Arrive by Bus

The NIA can be reached by a great number of local bus services.

Driving Here

The NIA is situated in Birmingham city centre; its central location ensures it is at the hub of the UK motorway network. Visitors from any direction can travel to The NIA using the following motorways - M1, M5, M6, M6 Toll, M40 and M42.

The NIA is signposted on motorways and major roads and is marked on most maps. If you decide to travel by car, we recommend that you allow plenty of time for your journey.

Using Sat Nav

If you are using a satellite navigation system please enter the postcode B1 2AA to pinpoint us. Please be aware that the Sat Nav system will not direct you into The NIA car parks. Please follow the clearly signposted directions once in the vicinity of the venue.

Car Parking

There are four car parks located at The NIA. North - King Edward's Road (open 24 hours)

South - Sheepcote Street (open 0645 - 1900, Monday - Friday, extended for events)

West - St Vincent Street (open for events only)

Community Hall - Junction of King Edward's Road and Sheepcote Street (open 0700 - 0000)

Parking Charges


Pay and Display tickets may be purchased from the machines situated on each level. An appropriate ticket must be displayed inside windscreen and the expiry date and time must be clearly visible from the outside.

4-8 hours £6.60
8-24 hours £8.00

Community Hall users and short stay customers can park in North Car Park Level 1 for up to 2 hours for just £1, a cost of 50p per hour.

Ticket machines will accept 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 and £2 coins and several also accept payment by debit/credit card. They do not give change but will accept overpayments.

For your assistance, change machines are permanently located near the entrances of both North Car Park and South Car Park.

All charges are inclusive of VAT and apply 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Please note, The NIA is located in a residential area and we would appreciate your co-operation in keeping noise to a minimum when leaving the venue.

Parking for Blue Badge holders

Blue Badge holders are exempt from all charges, provided the Blue Badge is clearly displayed.

Special designated bays have been marked out on Level 11 of South car park that give direct access to The NIA at Concourse level and bays have been reserved on Level 9 North which give ground floor access to the Arena.
