The show will still go ahead with McKinley Jackson to now take the helm as the main conductor. A towering figure in soul music, McKinley has worked with legends such as Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, and Dionne Warwick, and was highly recommended by Jean Carne and Shirley Jones.
This promises to be one of the most exciting soul shows seen in the UK in decades—a one-off, not-to-be-missed event. Featuring 25 major hits from the Philadelphia International label, the performance will bring together 47 outstanding musicians and singers for over two hours of pure celebration. You’ll hear music made famous by artists including MFSB, The Jones Girls, Teddy Pendergrass, Billy Paul, Lou Rawls, and The O'Jays.
Joining us on stage: Jean Carne, Shirley Jones, Terri Wells (making her UK debut) , Cornell CC Carter and Angelo Starr. Dexter’s place in the band will be taken by Matt Johnson, renowned for his work with Jamiroquai. A keyboard virtuoso and long-time admirer of Dexter, Matt brings exceptional talent and energy to the performance.
