Dune Rats is an Australian rock band from Brisbane, known for their infectious punk rock sound, energetic live performances, and a lighthearted, humorous approach to music. Formed in 2010 by longtime friends Danny Beus (vocals, guitar) and Brett Jansch (bass), and later joined by BC Michaels (drums), Dune Rats have built a dedicated fanbase both in Australia and internationally. Their music blends raw punk elements with a surf-rock twist, drawing inspiration from iconic punk and rock bands while carving out their own unique, high-energy style.

The band first made waves with singles like “Red Light, Green Light” and “Fuck It,” capturing attention with their DIY ethos and relatable, carefree lyrics. Dune Rats gained a reputation for their rebellious style and unfiltered attitude, which was showcased in their self-titled debut album released in 2014. The album was followed by 2017's The Kids Will Know It’s Bullshit, produced by Zac Carper of the band FIDLAR, which debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. This marked a major milestone for Dune Rats, cementing their status as a leading force in the Australian punk scene.

In 2020, Dune Rats released their third album, Hurry Up and Wait, which offered a slightly more refined sound while staying true to their roots. Known for songs like “No Plans” and “Crazy,” the album showcases the band’s evolution and explores themes of friendship, youth, and resilience. Their most recent work has expanded their influence, with appearances at major music festivals like Splendour in the Grass and tours across Europe and North America.
