Fern Marie Brady, born on May 26, 1986, is a Scottish comedian, podcaster, and writer. Originally from Bathgate, West Lothian, she grew up in a Catholic family with Irish roots in County Donegal. Brady attended St. Kentigern's Academy in West Lothian and later studied at the University of Edinburgh, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Arabic and Islamic History.

Before venturing into comedy, Brady initially pursued journalism and worked as an editor for The Student, a weekly newspaper produced by university students. To finance her studies, she worked as a stripper. Despite her early interest in comedy since 2006, Brady officially began her stand-up career in May 2010.Throughout her career, Brady achieved recognition by participating in stand-up competitions, including reaching the finals of "So You Think You're Funny" at the 2011 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Her success led to appearances on various comedy panel shows like 8 Out of 10 Cats and performances on platforms such as Live at the Apollo.

In 2020, Brady co-created the podcast "Wheel of Misfortune" with comedian Alison Spittle. Notably, in 2021, she was diagnosed as being on the autism spectrum, leading her to become an advocate for autism education. This journey is documented in her 2023 memoir, "Strong Female Character," published by Brazen, for which she won the non-fiction section of the 2023 Books Are My Bag Readers' Awards.

Brady's career continued to flourish, with appearances on the Dave travelogue "British as Folk" and participating in the 14th series of "Taskmaster," which aired in September 2022. In January 2022, she commenced a 25-date tour for her show "Autistic Bikini Queen." Overall, Fern Brady has made a significant mark in the world of comedy, podcasting, and literature, bringing her unique voice and perspective to diverse audiences.
