Stand up is where John began though and arguably where he really flies. His 2017 Edinburgh show was almost a riposte to his ex-partner Sara Pascoe’s own Edinburgh show detailing their breakup. Doesn’t sound like a funny night out, but John Robins kills at this relationship stuff, with a pounding delivery keeping the audience laughing through the sadness. He followed this with 2019’s Hot Shame another 5 star selling out show digging into post break up dating, home improvement and online golf.
He’s made appearances on Mock the Week (BBC2), Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled Series 1 & 3 (Dave), Stand-Up Central (Comedy Central), Russell Howard's Good News (BBC3), Live at The Comedy Store (Comedy Central and Drunk History (Comedy Central) and has a YouTube channel called Bad Golf.
