Lauv, whose real name is Ari Staprans Leff, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on August 8, 1994, in San Francisco, California. Lauv gained prominence with his breakout hit single "I Like Me Better" in 2017, which achieved international success and established him as a rising star in the music industry.

Growing up, Lauv developed a passion for music and began playing various instruments, including the piano and guitar, at a young age. He studied music technology at New York University, where he honed his songwriting and production skills. During his time at NYU, Lauv started to release his own music independently.
