Born February 26 1953, Michael Bolton is an American singer and songwriter known for his tender pop-rock ballads and soulful vocals. Michael Bolton was born to Jewish parents in New Haven, Connecticut. He has two brothers and a sister.

He has won multiple Grammys, sold more than 53 million records and received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. Bolton has written songs for Barbara Streisand, co-written songs with Bob Dylan and sung with everyone from Luciano Pavarotti to Ray Charles. He has had nine number one singles on the American Contemporary Tracks or the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and sold thousands of Michael Bolton tickets.

Bolton was not always the tender crooner we know and love today. In his early career, he was a hard rock vocalist and guitarist who was a member of the band Blackjack. Blackjack made two solo albums and once toured with Ozzy Osbourne.

His first major hit was a song written for Laura Brannigan, How Am I Supposed to Live Without You. In 1983, the song went to number one on the Adult Contemporary Charts for three weeks. His most recent studio album, One World One Love, was recorded over a period of two years. Co-written and produced by Bolton, One World One Love also contains surprising collaborations by Lady Gaga (Murder My Heart) and Ne-Yo (Sign Your Name). Bolton has stated that he intended this album in part to be an uplifting voice in a world full of increasing gloom and doom.
