Orions Belte is a Norwegian instrumental trio known for their eclectic fusion of genres, including dub, soul, lo-fi psych, and 1970s Nigerian rock. Formed in 2016, the band consists of Øyvind Blomstrøm (guitar), Chris Holm (bass), and Kim Åge Furuhaug (drums). Their musical journey began during a tour as part of a folk-pop singer’s backing band, where Blomstrøm and Holm bonded over their shared love for instrumental music and decided to create their own project. They quickly recruited Furuhaug, and within a few days, they recorded their debut album, Mint, in Bergen, Norway.
Since then, Orions Belte has released several albums and EPs, including Villa Amorini (2021), Slim (2020), and Women (2023). Their music has garnered international attention, with tracks like "Joe Frazier" amassing millions of streams on Spotify. The band has also been featured on various playlists, including Spotify’s Modern Psychedelia and Outliers.
