Richard Willis Hawley, born on January 17, 1967, is an English singer-songwriter, accomplished guitarist, and talented producer. Hawley's musical journey has taken him from his early years with the band Treebound Story to his success as a member of the Britpop group Longpigs during the 1990s. He also had a brief stint with the band Pulp, led by his friend Jarvis Cocker.

However, it was as a solo musician that Richard Hawley truly made his mark. Over the years, he has released eight studio albums, earning critical acclaim and nominations for prestigious awards like the Mercury Prize and Brit Award. His unique style combines elements of indie rock with a touch of retro inspiration.

Born in Sheffield, Hawley grew up in a working-class neighborhood and developed a strong connection to music from an early age. His parents, both musicians, played a significant role in shaping his passion. Hawley's father, Dave Hawley, was a guitarist in various local bands, while his mother, Lynne, was a singer.

Hawley's career took off when he released his debut solo album "Late Night Final." He signed with BMG Rights Management and went on to release his eighth studio album, "Further," in 2019. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from Hank Marvin to Arctic Monkeys and Elbow.
