Jonathan Romesh Ranganathan (born 27 March 1978) is a British comedian, presenter, and actor renowned for his deadpan and self-deprecating comedic style.

Born in Crawley to Sri Lankan Tamil parents, Ranganathan was raised Hindu and suffered from an eye infection as a child that resulted in a drooping eyelid and lazy eye. He attended Reigate Grammar School and Hazelwick School before studying mathematics at Birkbeck, University of London. Prior to his comedy career, he worked as a mathematics teacher and dabbled in freestyle rap under the stage name Ranga.

Ranganathan began performing comedy while still teaching and started presenting Newsjack on Radio 4 Extra in 2014. He gained wider recognition with appearances on The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown. His first major tour, Irrational Live, took place in 2016, featuring performances at large venues such as the Hammersmith Apollo.

He has been a regular panellist on shows like The Apprentice: You're Fired!, Play to the Whistle, and A League of Their Own. Ranganathan has also presented several comedy programmes including Judge Romesh and The Ranganation, and starred in the travel series The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan. In 2021, he began hosting the revival of The Weakest Link.

Ranganathan's work has been critically acclaimed, earning him the BAFTA TV Award for Best Features in 2020 for The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan and the BAFTA TV Award for Best Entertainment Performance in 2021 for The Ranganation. He also hosts a weekly radio show called For The Love of Hip-Hop on BBC Radio 2, which won an Audio and Radio Industry Award for Best Specialist Music Show in 2023. In April 2024, he took over as the host of the lunchtime Saturday BBC Radio 2 show.

His autobiography, Straight Outta Crawley, was published in 2018, detailing his journey from mathematics teacher to award-winning comedian and presenter.
