"I grew up in Fulham, West London and as far as I am concerned came from a regular, close-knit family. I never considered myself to be anything other than a normal child growing up however there was one aspect of my life that to outsiders was completely abnormal: I could hear and speak to dead people! Sally Morgan at age 2
It is something that has always been with me and so there was never one big epiphany when I thought I’m not like everyone else. As far as I knew when I was a little girl, everyone could see and hear things I could.
I inherited my ability from my grandmother, Gladys. People used to call her the witch of Fulham. She was a real character and everyone in my neighborhood knew her and knew she was a medium.
I was never frightened by my psychic experiences and in fact in a way found comfort from them. They were like invisible friends.
I saw my first spirit or ghost at my nursery when I was just four years of age and when I was at primary School I used to talk to a spirit who always appeared to me in the art cupboard. I used to get into trouble because I used to shut myself away and talk to him for ages.
As I grew older my “knowing’s” as I like to call them became much stronger and I began to realize just how extraordinary my gift was. I began feeling very different to my friends and family, as if something was wrong with me. My ability was never discouraged and when I was a teenager my mother took me to a meeting of Spiritualists. It was there that celebrated medium Joseph Benjamin recognized my potential. He could see something special in me and predicted that I would go on to be a professional medium. I was 15 at the time and didn’t have a clue what he was talking about! I always wanted to work as a nurse not with spooky people!
I did actually go on to work as a nurse in several hospitals in London. During this time my psychic ability was constantly developing and I learned to control it. When I was young my ability was “on” all the time but as I got older I learned that I could close myself off to spirit, which made life much easier!
In my spare time I began giving readings to friends and family and over the years, through word of mouth, my client base grew. Eventually I gave up nursing and become a full time medium – I have never looked back since!
My life really changed when a friend put me in contact with Diana, Princess of Wales, who was fascinated by psychics. Once she heard of me she wanted a reading herself and after a series of meetings we become close - I read for the princess for over 4 years. Suddenly, I was being approached by Hollywood stars, TV stars and international recording artists, which is where my original title of “Psychic to the stars” came from.
My gift has enabled me to explore a variety of avenues and I will be eternally grateful for being able to connect my gift in so many ways through my tour, TV series and books.
Although my work is extremely challenging and highly emotional at times, I would never change it. I know that I am exceptionally lucky to have this amazing gift and to be able to explore and share it through my Tour, TV series and books is a huge honor and one that I will be eternally grateful for.
We live in a cynical world and I’ve had to prove myself time and time again. In 2005 I was tested by Professor Gary Schwartz, a Harvard University Ph.D. graduate, who after the experiment regarded me as one of the best mediums he has ever tested. I have never tried or wanted to convert anyone throughout my life as a medium. I believe that everyone is entitled to his or her own belief system and all I aim to do is share with people the possibility that there is an afterlife."
