South West Trains run services direct from London Waterloo to Hampton Court. The journey only takes 35 minutes and the palace is a 200 metre walk across the bridge from the station. Visitors with sight or mobility concerns should be aware that cyclists often ride their bicycles on the pavement of the bridge.

The train service passes through Wimbledon station, where the London Underground District Line begins. Train time are as follows:

Sunday - xx27 and xx57
Hampton Court to Waterloo
Monday-Saturday - xx24 and xx54
Sunday - xx05 and xx35

Trains also call at Vauxhall, Clapham Junction, Earlsfield, Wimbledon, Raynes Park, New Malden, Berrylands, Surbiton and Thames Ditton. On arrival at Hampton Court station there is a large step down to the platform from the train.

Alternatively, take the train from London Waterloo to Kingston (there are four trains an hour and the quickest route is via Strawberry Hill or Shepperton) then the bus from Kingston to Hampton Court Palace. See below for bus route information.

Hampton Court is in Travel Zone 6 so travelcards that include zone 6 may be used.

Pay-as-you-go Oyster cards are accepted on South West Trains. To make sure you pay the correct fare, touch in and touch out by placing your Oyster card on a yellow reader on automatic ticket gates (for example, at London Waterloo) or platform validators (which are at Hampton Court station) at the start and end of your journey.

R68 - From Kew, Richmond, Twickenham, Teddington and Hampton
*267 - From Hammersmith, Brentford, Isleworth, Twickenham, Fulwell and Hampton Summer Sundays and public holidays only (May-August)
513 - From Byfleet, Downside, Cobham, Oxshott, Esher and Kingston Has a very limited service, about three times a day on Mondays to Saturdays
515A - From Guildford, Ripley, Cobham, Esher and Kingston Sundays only, no evening service

Most buses are adapted for wheelchair users. Please note that the nearest bus stop to the palace may be on the opposite side of the road to the palace entrance and potentially 200 metres away. Visitors coming from Kingston may like to know that the bus stop by the King's Arms pub (opposite the gate to Bushy Park) on Hampton Court Road is next to the entrance to the Wilderness Garden and the Maze. From London airports
From Heathrow Airport take the 111 bus.

From Gatwick Airport, take a train from the airport station to Clapham Junction and change to the Hampton Court train.

From City Airport, take the Docklands Light Railway to Canning Town and then the Jubilee Line to Waterloo. Catch the Hampton Court train from there.

Hampton Court Palace has some lockers where hand baggage and small rucksacks or overnight bags can be left. They are off Clock Court and a £1 coin is required to use them. The coin will be returned to you after use. However there is nowhere for large bags or suitcases to be stored. These may be left at the owners risk in the Warders Office by the West Gate. Please speak to the Warders when you present your ticket if you would like to use this facility. This facility may be withdrawn without notice.

If visiting the palace prior to your flight, please allow at least 1½ hours to get back to the airport from Hampton Court prior to your check-in time.

By car
The palace is located on the A308 and is well signposted from all the major local roads; drivers should follow the brown tourist attraction road signs. From the M25 take either exit 10 on to the A307 or exit 12 on to the A308. The palace is also accessible via the A3 and then the A309. For a map to help you plan your journey, visit Multimap.

Limited parking is available at Hampton Court Palace (in the car park behind the Barrack Block) at a cost of £1.50 per hour and on Hampton Court Green (500 metres from the palace entrance) at £1.00 per hour. Parking is also available at the Hampton Court train station, 200 metres from the palace (please check at the station for prices).

The palace car park has nine disabled parking spaces for blue badge holders. They are available on a first come first served basis and are in the lower car park, near the entrance to the Welcome Centre. Parking is currently free for blue badge holders.
