With best seat booking we will automatically choose the best seats available depending on your chosen price level and the number of tickets you require.

Seating chart booking

The EVENTIM Seating chart booking allows you to purchase exactly the seats you want for an event at a specific venue. Open the seating plan for an overview of all available seats, then click on the seats you want to select them.

Please note that the EVENTIM Seating chart booking is not available for all events.

General admission

General admission refers to seating or standing areas that are not assigned or reserved, and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis. When purchasing tickets for a General admission event, you may be quoted section, row and seat numbers, however these are for inventory purposes only and do not reflect any actual seating location. Seating arrangements vary for each event, and there may or may not be seats of any kind available.

Seat or standing ticket subject to availability

This price category mainly comprises seats, although this is not guaranteed. Under certain circumstances, you may receive a standing ticket for the same price. We're sorry, but we cannot guarantee to fulfil specific wishes regarding seating or standing tickets. It is not possible to exchange the tickets you receive.

Currently not available

If an event, price level or ticket type is 'Not currently available' then all tickets in that category have been sold.

EVENTIM makes every effort to obtain more tickets so check our website regularly for updates.

Delivery not available

If the event is taking place a few days after you place your order, the option to have your tickets delivered via Standard mail will no longer be available. Depending on the event it may be possible to collect your tickets at the venue or print your tickets yourself using ticketdirect.

Only single seats available

In your chosen price level there are now only single seats available. Although there may be a large number of seats available they will not be next to each other. It may be possible to book consecutive seats in a different price level or by using the EVENTIM Seating chart booking.

Concessions

Concession tickets are often available, e.g. to students, children and seniors. If purchasing concession priced tickets, proof of entitlement, e.g. a valid student id card, may be requested by the venue.

Inside the Student Union building. Approximately 1 mile from Manchester City Centre. Situated on Oxford Road on the Manchester University campus. Head towards Rusholme from City centre and the Academy is next to Manchester Students Union.

Buses operate around every one minute along Oxford Road towards the Universities. The Academy venues are 4 stops from the Palace Hotel, Oxford Road. Buses cost 50p-£1.00 on most services and £1.00 for night-buses

Nearest train stations: Manchester Oxford Road [1/2mile], Piccadilly [1mile], Deansgate[1mile]. Nearest Metro [tram] station: Peter St,Piccadilly,GMEX [all 1 mile]. Nearest hotels: Palace Hotel [Oxford Road 10 min walk], Ibis [UMIST 15 min walk], Travel Inn [City Centre 20 min walk].

Parking
Official car park for the union and it's venues is in the car park in the front of the Contact Theatre, next to the academy. Access to the theatre car park is via Denmark St off Oxford Rd. Turn right on to Acomb St and right at end (onto Dilworth St), over the humps to the car park entrance two hundred metres up on the left. You need two pound coins to operate the barrier

DISABLED PROVISION We are delighted to announce that the Academy 1 now has a purpose built first floor viewing gallery and bar which can be accessed by our disabled guests. If you are attending a future show at the Academy 1 please telephone 0161 275 2930 to pre register to access this facility.

Academy 2, 3 and Club Academy is currently standing only venues and we do not have purpose built disabled viewing provision. We will however try to accommodate our disabled guests with chairs/raised viewing where possible. We will also attempt to facilitate an appropriate location from where you can fully enjoy the gig. Please be aware that no arrangements can be guaranteed in advance. Please telephone 0161 275 2930 in advance of the show date to inform us of your needs and requirements.

Availability and Location of Adapted Toilets There are adapted toilets available in the basement and on the ground, 1st and the 2nd floor, and lift access to all.
