Northampton train station is approximately a 15 minute walk from the theatre and is served by a busy taxi rank. London Midland operate regular services with both London and Birmingham approximately an hours journey away. By Bus
Northampton Bus Station is situated on Greyfriars and is approximately a 10-minute walk from the theatre. There are bus stops throughout the Town Centre within a 5-minute walk. By Car
From the Motorway
From the North: Leave the motorway at J16 and turn onto the A45, signposted Northampton West. At the roundabout take the second exit to continue on the A45 and follow signs for Northampton. Follow the signs for Northampton Town Centre going past Northampton Saints Rugby ground on your right hand side. You will get to a junction (Northampton train station will be on your left), turn right at these traffic lights, move into the left hand lane and take the second exit when you come to the roundabout. At the second set of traffic lights you will turn left, follow the road and signs for St John’s Car Park.
From the South: Leave the M1 at J15. At the roundabout take the 3rd exit onto the A45. Continue forward on the A45 (signposted Wellingborough, Kettering) following signs for the County Cricket Ground. Branch left at the Barnes Meadow Interchange, signposted for Bedford/Abington and Town Centre (just before the flyover). At the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A428 Bedford Road (signposted Town Centre). Remain on this road (going past Becket’s Park on the left) and you will reach a main junction. At these lights continue forward onto Derngate. The second left turning off Derngate will take you to Albion Place, the third will bring you onto Guildhall Road towards the St John’s car parks.

The nearest car parks to the theatre are Albion Place, St John’s Multi-storey car park. Disabled parking is available in each car park and 24-hour CCTV cameras cover all car parks.
Accessibility
Access
Royal & Derngate has been completely refurbished and is now more accessible. There is level access into the building and auditoriums, with a number of wheelchair spaces in each and lift access to all floors (excluding upper-circles).

The Sennheiser Infra-red Enhanced Hearing System is available here. Headsets and receivers can be collected from the theatre shop. Guide and hearing dogs are welcome and water can be provided. If you wish to take them into the auditorium, please let Box Office know when booking so that suitable seats can be allocated for you.
