Ane Brun had always been musical, but it wasn’t until she was she had finished university that she started considering music as a career. She wrote music alongside her studies, and moved to Stockholm in 2001. She recorded her debut album, Spending Time with Morgan, in 2002. It was released in 11 European countries on the Determine label in 2003. Immediately, an interest in Ane Brun tickets and tours was ignited.
After the release of the album, Ane Brun tickets went on sale for her European tour. She toured heavily until in 2005, when she released her new album, A Temporary Dive. The album was met with much critical acclaim all over the world, with rave reviews in the press from Time magazine to the Independent. That year she won the Norwegian Grammy for Best Female Artist.
After A Temporary Dive’s success, Anne decided to start work on an album of collaborations, called simply Duets. It featured songs with Ron Sexsmith, Syd Matters, Teitur and Madrugada – and the latter duet earned both artists a Norwegian Grammy.
Ane Brun tickets were selling steadily for her subsequent tours, which include many different arrangements: full bands, string sections, just a cello, numerous backing vocalists, no backing vocalists, simply a guitar.
Her third studio album, The Changing of the Seasons, was released in 2008. The single The Treehouse Song was described by Pitchfork as “possibly the best thing she’s ever done.” The follow up album, Sketches, was a stripped-down version of The Changing of the Seasons. An Ane Brun concert at the Union Chapel, London, in support of Sketches was met with rapturous praise and glowing reviews.
